FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We work very hard to provide a safe, sterile environment for your tattoo. We only use single-use needles. All equipment is sterilised in an autoclave, which is validated regularly. We follow all standard processes to avoid cross-contamination.

Getting a tattoo is like scratching sunburnt skin. It is painful, but manageable. Some parts of the body are more painful than others. And everyone has different pain tolerances.
Yes, a deposit is required for all tattoos. The minimum deposit is $100. Please refer to our Deposit Policy for more information. Please note a deposit is not required for initial consultations, which are free.

You can pay by cash during your initial consultation, or by arrangement at another time. Alternatively, we can provide you with bank account details when you make your appointment. Click here for more information on our Deposit Policy.

Your initial consultation is free, but you will still need to book an appointment in advance.

Yes you can. It’s your tattoo and we want you to be satisfied. BUT … Bear in mind that your artist must spend time developing a design. So if you change your mind after work has already been undertaken on the design, you will be charged for that time. Also, keep in mind that your artist will need time to prepare the new design. So if you change your mind within 48 hours of your appointment, our Deposit Policy will apply, and your deposit will be forfeited.

Yes. But please also bring someone else who can supervise the children while you get your tattoo or have your consultation. It is very important that children do not come near the working area.
No, we do not offer this type of ink.
Yes, we can arrange this if required.
Yes, you can bring one support person with you. But we do not allow more than one person because it can be distracting for the artist.
We will only tattoo those aged 18 or over; even if parental consent can be obtained. We may ask you for a copy of your identification to validate your date of birth if we feel this is required.

St John’s Avenue is a busy area in the heart of Gordon. There is on-street parking nearby, but this may be difficult to obtain … particularly for long tattoos. We are very close to the Gordon train station, which has two large car parks in Henry Street (or you could come by train). Or 4-hour parks are available in Ravenswood Avenue, which is only a block away. Unlimited parking can often be found in the residential parts of St John’s Avenue, on the opposite side of the Pacific Highway.

Initial consultation appointments are free. The minimum price is $120, which is for small tattoos only; including appointments of 15 minutes duration or less. If you provide a design, we can give you a set price. Or alternatively, we can arrange an hourly rate or day rate. Please refer to our Tattoo Price Guide on the home page for more information.

No, we do not price match. Remember, tattooing is about more than price. You should also consider the quality of the design, the skill of the artist, and the professionalism (and cleanliness) of the studio. We think when you consider all of these things, we are your best choice.
We will talk you through after care during your appointment. Or you can go to our After Care page for more information.
Yes we do. We suggest you book in for an initial consultation so we can talk about what is possible. Some tattoos cannot be covered up. We can give you some advice if laser tattoo removal may be a good option for you, and refer you to somewhere that provides this service.
We can do most styles. If we feel like we won’t do a good job, we will definitely tell you so. We won’t take on something that is beyond our skill set.
This will depend on our workload and how much time there is between your initial consultation and your appointment. We will always try to share the design with you early, but this may not always be possible. This is why it is very important to have an initial consultation, and for you to bring detailed information on what you would like. Reference pictures or samples are always useful. This also gives us a chance to see your body shape to confirm sizes and how the tattoo will flow.
